Description

Ferrosilicon Magnesium Cored Wire | Automatic Wire Feed Nodulizer from Zemei Factory

1. Product Overview

Ferrosilicon Magnesium Cored Wire, abbreviated FeSiMg Cored Wire in global casting export contracts, is the dedicated Nodularizing Cored Wire designed exclusively for nodular cast iron manufacturers. Unlike calcium or barium series cored wires which only complete deoxidation and degassing, this Spheroidizing Alloy Wire takes magnesium as core functional element to turn flaky graphite into spherical graphite inside molten iron, which is the irreplaceable core auxiliary for ductile iron pipe, auto crankshaft and heavy machinery ductile castings. As standard Ductile Iron Wire Feed and universal Cast Iron Modifier Wire, it adopts low-carbon thin steel strip outer shell, filled with graded ferrosilicon magnesium alloy powder processed via sealed nitrogen crushing craft, and continuous bilateral cold pressing sealing avoids powder leakage during high-speed automatic wire feeding equipment operation. Zemei's R&D team adjusts magnesium content according to different sulfur levels of raw molten iron, forming multiple standard formulas suitable for low, medium and high sulfur pig iron raw materials. After wire feeding into 1380–1460℃ liquid iron, magnesium element reacts rapidly to form graphite spheroids, while silicon assists grain homogenization, trace rare earth ingredients restrain magnesium fading loss, the effective spheroidizing period can reach 10–16 minutes. This product can be used independently for ladle spheroidization, or matched with silicon-barium cored wire for compound wire feeding to simultaneously finish spheroidization + degassing + grain refinement, cutting ductile iron scrap rate by more than 24%. All finished coils pass filling uniformity and air tightness double inspection before delivery, SGS full-element test reports can be provided to meet overseas foundry audit and customs filing demands. Our dedicated cored wire workshop has independent production lines for FeSiMg wire, supporting customized magnesium proportion, wire diameter and single reel weight.

2. Raw Material & Complete Automated Production Process

The inner filling material of FeSiMg Cored Wire is self-smelted ferrosilicon magnesium alloy ingots. After nitrogen protection crushing, three-layer vibration screening is carried out to remove excessive superfine powder that easily causes leakage during wire feeding. The outer steel belt is controlled within 0.3–0.5mm thickness, featuring moderate melting speed without forming stubborn slag residues to pollute molten iron matrix. The whole production line is equipped with enclosed dust recycling and constant-volume automatic powder conveying equipment, which stabilizes the magnesium-silicon ratio of each batch of core materials and eliminates unstable spheroidization caused by manual batching errors. Standard full production flow: FeSiMg alloy ingot nitrogen sealed crushing → three-stage impurity vibration screening → magnetic separation of oxide impurities → quantitative constant volume powder delivery → steel strip uncoiling U forming → continuous core filling → bilateral cold airtight crimping → fixed wire diameter shaping → automatic reel winding → spheroidization simulation test → anti-moisture film packaging. All flue gas and dust generated in production are treated by circulating purification devices, fully complying with international metallurgical environmental standards. When fed into molten iron, the spheroidizing effective window of this Spheroidizing Alloy Wire lasts 10–16 minutes, effectively solving graphite degeneration and flake reversion problems caused by long ladle waiting time. Standard specification coils are permanently stocked in constant-temperature dry warehouses; full-container sea shipments can be completed within 7–12 working days after receiving prepayment.

Six Unique Product Competitive Advantages (No repetition with other cored wire docs)

Exclusive spheroidizing function of Ferrosilicon Magnesium Cored Wire

Magnesium core ingredient converts flake graphite into spherical structure, a core performance unavailable in Ca/Ba series alloy wires.

Long anti-fading property of Nodularizing Cored Wire

Rare earth additive slows magnesium burning loss, stable spheroidization effect maintains 10–16 minutes to adapt intermittent pouring of large ductile iron foundries.

Multi-sulfur raw material compatibility of Ductile Iron Wire Feed

Three magnesium formulas match low/medium/high sulfur pig iron without extra auxiliary wire feeding.

Tight airtight wrapping of Spheroidizing Alloy Wire

Bilateral cold pressing prevents fine powder spillage under high-speed wire feeding operation.

Moderate melting characteristic of Cast Iron Modifier Wire

No violent splashing during wire feeding, reduce molten iron loss and improve ladle operation safety.

Integrated one-step treatment capacity

Single wire feeding realizes spheroidization + grain refining, simplifying ladle operation procedures and cutting labor cost.

5. Global Target Application Fields

This FeSiMg Cored Wire is the core consumable of ductile iron foundries across more than 20 overseas regions, covering four core production lines:

Automobile power castings

Crankshafts, engine blocks, clutch housings requiring high spheroidization rate; European auto foundries mostly select 13mm large reels for continuous wire feeding.

01

Municipal ductile iron pipes

Large-caliber water supply and drainage nodular pipes; Middle Eastern pipe factories adopt 10mm standard coils for ladle spheroidization.

02

Heavy engineering machinery castings

Bearing seats, gearbox shells with high impact resistance; Southeast machinery foundries use medium magnesium specification.

03

New energy lightweight ductile iron parts

Low-load thin nodular housings matched with silicon-barium compound wire feeding. When combined with ferrosilicon barium cored wire, it can complete spheroidization, degassing and grain refinement at one time, greatly lowering internal shrinkage and graphite flake defects, and has obtained wide recognition from global nodular iron manufacturers.
